Meet Tom, like any typical cat he’s stoic, independent, and does that funny little thing with his paws when he purrs and is happy. I was being lazy and randomly pointing the camera at various locations while we were on the couch. He didn’t like the lens right up in his face, kept batting at it, so kitty paws is what we have today.

Day 56/365: Marine Charm Necklace
This has become one of my favorite necklaces. My oldest son is a US Marine, my youngest will be leaving for boot camp next summer.
I have found a custom jewelry artist who will create a line of Marine themed charms and pendants for me to start a new business “Hero Charms & Jewelry”.
Several inspirational words will be available and each charm is double sided. The square charm has an option for an option for the motto on the opposite side or a custom image of your special Marine. I will post other necklace options on my Flickr page
Now I have to submit the official licensing paperwork to the United States Marine Corps in order to use the EGA (Eagle, Globe and Anchor) logo and advertise Marines, U.S.M.C. Then I will post the website and shopping cart.
If you’re interested in purchasing a Marine Charm necklace leave me a message or email me and I will let you know when they are available.
Day 41/365: Prayer Shawl
Just one of the many comforts I received at my Mothers bedside was from Mary, a Hartford Hospital chaplain. After initially talking with her in the mid afternoon, she returned later with a Prayer Shawl knitted by the ladies from her church especially for patients and families at the hospital. She wrapped it around my shoulders and it’s warmth and comfort was overwhelming as we said prayers and the final service for my Mother.
“May God’s love be upon this shawl
and with you as it warms, comforts and embodies you.
Through our needlework, may it be a reminder
our prayers and thought are with you.”

Day 36/365: Pistachio Macro
I could call this camera jealousy, since my Marine son came home on leave with a Canon Rebel camera. But I won’t, even though he’s not really a photo bug like me. I will refrain.
But I had to try out the macro function while I could to capture a few pistachios . I love pistachios and as a joke I received four pounds at Christmas, (all gone now) along with another favorite snack food which will be features later.
