Days 262/365: Cheesecake Factory

November 3, 2011 by info@3QuartersToday.com

My son loves cheesecake. So, when I asked him what he wanted to eat out for his last meal before he left for boot camp in the US Marine Corp he said, “Somewhere with cheesecake” Although I had never been there I figured the place with the best variety of cheesecake would be the Cheesecake Factory.

What a choice. He couldn’t make up his mind so he asked. “Can I choose more than one?” Who am I to say no to a son that will be leaving the next day for boot camp. Of course he could have two.

Day 258-261/365: Memories of Summer

November 2, 2011 by info@3QuartersToday.com

As winter approaches, it’s nice to think about the lazy days of summer. Did I say lazy? Baseball games, softball games, go carting at Joes Carting in Council Bluffs, and a few barbeques thrown in between. I tried to fill the last few days I had with my son before he left for boot camp in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Happy Halloween! I have a new phone, and no, I didn’t give into the iPhone, but did move over from a simple texting phone to a “smart” phone. Let’s see how smart it is, can I realistically post to my blog? It so I might be able to keep up.

Happy Halloween everyone, hope it was wonderful, we carved pumpkins using, of course, Pumpkin master stencils and a awl kit I won last year in a Facebook contest.

Day 253-256, Our New House

October 29, 2011 by info@3QuartersToday.com

Just one of the major life events in the past two months was moving into our new house. I first walked through this house three years ago, the first time it went on the market. Due to various reasons, it wasn’t in my price range, and the timing wasn’t right. So why did it stay on the market for so long.

As it went through various realtors, and decreased in price I slightly said a prayer every time. Please let it stay on the market until I can afford it, and the timing is right. I guess my prayer worked. During the three years I met Randy, changed jobs, paid down some debt, and this house got a new paint job inside and just waited.

It may look like an inconspicuous ranch, but inside is a five bedroom, three bath, garage, huge backyard, deck and an AMAZING basement family room with a fireplace all in 2800 square feet. That is three times bigger than the house I moved out of three blocks down the road. By the way, my old house will be for sale soon, at a great bargain.

Post Production, Wedding Photography (Days 251-253)

October 28, 2011 by info@3QuartersToday.com

One of the wonderful things about digital photography is the endless creative projects that can be created with wedding photography. While working at Hamilton Color Lab I have had the privilege of viewing some amazing photography and learning various styles of post production techniques.

These following photos were taken by Andy McDonald of Mirror Images Photography, but I’m including them in my 365 project because I did the post production. These were printed at the lab on Fuji Crystal Lustre Professional+ paper and mounted to paramount for open house/reception that took place three weeks after we moved. More on that later.
