I love salads, and this one was topped with the first strawberries of the season. Nothing too special about the picture other than a clipping path and a drop shadow, the background was cluttered and distracting. Salad tasted good and I liked the colors. Just a quickie to catch up on my 365 Project.

Day 120/365: Marshmallow Peeps for Easter
You know it’s getting close to Easter when the Marshmallows Peep show up on the store shelves. I always get excited about the anticipation of Easter Peeps.
Marshmallow Peeps are soft, colorful, sugary, and fun!!
This iconic treat of pure sugar has a cult following and there are many ways to use them other than just for getting a sugar high. They now come in all sorts of colors, aside from the original yellow, although I’m a purist.
There is a whole website dedicated to Peep Recipes, Peep Crafts, and multiple contests including one from the Washington Post called the “Peep Show” I won’t even go-to the subject that comes to mind.
Heck, there is even the official PEEPS Facebook page, well of course, why not?
Peeps come out at Easter time, but aren’t just for Easter.
I bought a few to play with, had to eat the chocolate covered Peep one right away.
I do have to confess, after eating a package today at lunch (the above container) I am very sugared out and don’t think I’ll be eating anything sugary for a while.
Bleh… I guess I’m not a kid anymore, even though the marshmallows are light and airy, it’s nothing but sugar, sugar, sugar. That’s why it’s once a year for me, no matter how fun they look.
Marshmallow Peeps All Year Round
No longer do you have to wait until Easter to enjoy your favorite marshmallow peeps. Since I wrote this article I have taken notice of all the different types available throughout the year.
There is an entire marshmallow peep culture. Now that I’m a Grandmother I call my grandkids my little Peeps. So this Bunny Peep grandma gift is perfect.
Day 118/365: A Rainy Spring Day Calls For Homemade Soup
Rainy spring days call for homemade soup. This time I got a little carried away, couldn’t have put anymore into this pot if I tried. I think there is two gallons of soup, but after eating our meal, sharing some with a friend, and putting a few ready to eat cups in the freezer there isn’t any left.
Most of the time I include a recipe, but there is no way I can include on on this batch. It was a clean out the freezer creation. Homemade chicken stock, a quart of stewed tomatoes, leftover chicken, turkey, and ham along with frozen carrots, corn, some canned potatoes a friend gave me, and a can of veg-all vegetables. Mix all together in one pot, add some of your favorite seasonings (pepper, basil, Italian, parsley, chilli powder etc..) and simmer for two hours. I added some couscous during the last thirty minutes for texture.
Day 117/365: Wedding Cake, Are the Flowers Real?
Zoom in for a closer look, Are they real, or edible? Went to a friends wedding last weekend for a young Elmwood-Murdock couple and was amazed by the talent of the cake designer. Lynn doesn’t even do this full time. She works for the county sheriffs department.
I think I’m giving her a call for my son’s graduation cake.
Day 112/365: Birthday Candles
I like birthdays and I LOVE chocolate cake. Here’s a quick picture of the chocolate cake I made for a friends 14th birthday and the ever lighting candles. They drove him crazy as he tried to blow them out. My kids hate them too.
Added benefit, this image is untouched by Photoshop other than resizing and sharpening.
