The Elmwood-Murdock high school band once again marched at the annual Applejack Festival Parade in Nebraska City Nebraska this September. They didn’t place first this year but did very well and we’re very proud of them. My daughter plays the quads in the percussion section and as she said, “I’m a beast with the quads”
Of course at the Apple festival you HAVE to eat something apple. I wanted a caramel apple, but couldn’t find one on Main Street. I bought an apple turnover from a Amish/Mennonite vendor. It was so delicious, the crust was just heavenly, just wish I could get the recipe, I’m sure it had real butter.
I ma sure that turnover had real butter too, as well as some lard! I used to work with an Amish woman who used to bring peach turnovers in to share. Heavenly!
